Earth Weave Mosaic Cowl

with Linda Morris

Calendar Feb 11, 2020 at 1 pm

Mosaic knitting gives the effect of two-color knitting without having to carry two colors across the row.  If you can knit and purl, and are comfortable knitting "in the round" on a circular needle, you're going to be surprised at how easily you can make this complex looking design without carrying two colors.

In class we'll cover the cable cast on, and have an introduction to reading a mosaic chart. While the pattern used in class also has written instructions for working the mosaic design, understanding the simple chart will prepare you for patterns that may not.

Materials: Worsted weight yarn, 200 yds of color A and 200 yds of color B; Size 9 circular needles with 24" cable; Please copy or download and bring to class the free pattern Earth weave
