Diagonal Rib Top-Down Socks

Two 2-hr classes from Nov. 19 & Dec. 3, 2019 2-4 

Take the next step in making socks and add a stitch pattern! This sock can be knit two different ways--with the stitch pattern all around the leg or the pattern only on the front of the leg and a simple knit 1, purl 1 rib on the back. We will be working one sock at a time, but you can knit two socks at the same time on separate sets off needles.

You will learn the German Twisted cast on, and how to knit the heel flap, turn the heel, pick up and knit stitches to make a gusset, ending with the kitchener stitch.

$55. for two 2-hr sessions plus materials

Materials: Smooth, light-colored sock weight yarn (100 grams)

size 2 needles for knitting a small circumference (DPN"s, 2 circs,  magic loop, flexi-flips or flyers, whichever is your favorite)

Gauge: 14 sts and 19 rounds = 2" in stockinette stitch

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner-knowing how to do the traditional long-tail cast on a plus Homework: Cast on 15 sts and knit 15 rows for a gauge swatch

Easy Brioche Hat

Tuesdays Nov 19th & 26th 2018 10-12

In this Brioche 2-session class you will create on of the softest hats ever! You will learn the basic Brioche stitch used in the round and one of the Brioche decrease stitches to form the crown.  Skill level: Advanced beginner--must know how to knit and purl; some experience working in the round a plus  $50. Plus Materials  Please register by Nov 12th 

Materials: 1 skein (approx. 200 yds) worsted weight yarn; 16" circular needles size 5 and 7, and size 7 double point needles - or 40" circular if you prefer magic loop, tapestry needle.

Homework: Using smaller needles and Long Tail cast-on or another stretchy cast-on, cast on 88 sts. Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist your stitches. Place marker to indicate beginning of round. Round 1: *K1, p1, rep from * to end of round. Repeat Round 1 until hat measures 1.5” from cast on. Switch to larger needles.
